What the Hell?
Hello. I am Poem Monkey. I set up my typewriter at markets and art shows or on the street or wherever and for five bucks I'll improvise a poem on anything you can name. On the spot or while you wander around. Whatever. I want to write poems for you, the Consumer of Poems. For you, the person who likes freak show type displays of artistic strangeness. For you, the curious passerby who is wondering what that idiot with the typewriter is doing. Five bucks for a slice of art, just for you. Take it home and frame it. Tell your friends about the jerk you saw that morning at the market, pimping his typewriter for a few pennies. Tell them. Seriously. And tell them to bring their wallets and try to stump me.
Last thing: you get the poem I write, not the poem you'd like me to write. You just get to name the thing.
I'll be posting the results here each week. All Genuine Poem Monkey Poems are typed on some kind of nice paper, mostly handmade, but all good stuff. If you want one, Paypal five bucks along with your "thing you want a poem about" and your address to poemmonkey [at] hotmail [dot] com and I'll mail it to you.
